Fuelled by wood pellets made from untreated waste sawdust which is pulverised and compressed into clean, dry pellets. Parkwood pellet fires burn with the natural ambience of wood fires, at environmentally friendly and near-perfect fuel to air ratios.
Economical and energy efficient
Parkwood pellet fires save you money whilst ensuring that you never again wake up in, or return to a cold home. Pellets are burnt at ideal fuel/air ratios which means they burn very efficiently, producing real warmth for minimum cost. A quiet convection fan beneath the hopper pushes clean, warm air out into your home.
How a Parkwood pellet fire works
Convection heat vs. radiant heat
A Parkwood pellet fire operates using both convection heat and radiant heat. Traditional wood fires and heaters such as oil heaters generate radiant heat, which means the heat source warms up and radiates heat to nearby areas. Convection heat circulates air through a heating appliance with a heat exchanger (such as a pellet fire) to blow warm air around a room.
The genius of a Parkwood pellet fire is that it is incredibly efficient in extracting the heat from the firebox, thanks to the built-in convection fan that forces heat out into the room. In addition, some radiant heat from the firebox emanates through the glass door, and the sides - ensuring maximum heating efficiency.
Simple and easy to use
Using a Parkwood pellet fire is easy. You simply fill the hopper with a bag of wood pellets, push the start button and sit back while the Parkwood fire does the rest for you.
- The pellets are automatically dropped into the firebox via an auger – which will adjust itself according to your desired heat setting.
- The pellets are automatically ignited and heat a series of metal heat exchange tubes located above the firebox. A convection fan within the fire blows air through these tubes and disperses clean, dry and warm air around your home.
- Pellets are packaged in easy-to-handle 20kg bags, and it’s easy to refill the fire’s pellet hopper. A 20kg bag of pellets can give up to 30 hours of continuous burning.
